Recently, I hauled out my juicing machine and purchased a blender and I began juicing fruit and veggies. Adding a glass of fresh fruit or veggie juice to my daily eating plan. Just like that! Not for any other reason than that my body has been asking for something more from food that what it has obviously been getting. And it became quite vehement about it over the last few weeks.
I consider myself very fortunate too to have access to many fresh organic vegetables from my home garden, which helps a lot with availability and budget. I have found myself enjoying this experience and actually having a lot of fun, as I go about concocting different fruit and/or vegetable cocktails. Needless to same, some have been more enjoyable to ingest than others. But even with the ghastly tasting blends, I began to notice something! Regardless of the actual taste, my body was having the time of its Life! I definitely had more energy and the sluggishness was lifting and I noticed I was walking with a bounce in my step, feeling less achy and stiff. My body felt wonderful and was humming to me. 😉
Now before all you fervent juicers say ‘We told you so’, I do wish to confirm that I have on several previous occasions fasted and started detox juice plans. Some were successfully completed, but none with any long-term success. I also knew that my body did not want to experience these again and was looking for something new, quick and easy. Otherwise, quite frankly neither of us are keen to get started, not to mention keeping it up.
After a particularly horrid tasting veggie cocktail a few days ago, I did begin to wonder at the role our taste buds play in our eating habits. I found myself wondering, ‘Am I a slave to my taste buds?’. There is definitely a Yes answer in there to a large degree. There is no denying that eating something delicious can be orgasmic and extremely pleasurable. But how much of what we eat leaves us feeling great and energised?
So many people experience indigestion, bloating, allergies, food disorders when it comes to food. So is it enough to eat something that simply tastes good? Just looking at the package label of most food makes it quite apparent that much of the food we think we are eating, is not ‘real’ food and has been disguised usually with chemicals to taste appealing. The chemicals often settle into the body’s tissue and long-term cause dis-ease, as the body is not able to flush them out effectively, when consumed in large quantities and over extended periods of time. A lot of the food we consume today is basically a synthetic copy of a natural food with artificial flavouring added to make it palatable.
If you have ever suffered from a hang-over and had a toddy, then you know that the toddy that actually made you feel better, tasted simply awful. Stories of old, always tell of the beverage that tasted worse than anything and yet it restored a sense of health.
I remember back to when I first started using structured water just over a year ago. Now I am a coffee drinker. I love the taste and smell of coffee. So it was a ritual to begin my day with a good cup of filtered fresh coffee. Drinking structured water changed my taste bud. For several weeks after beginning to drink structured water, I found the taste of my usual coffee had changed, so much so, that I no longer even enjoyed drinking my coffee. So I stopped. Then after about two month’s I suddenly desired a coffee again. This time, my coffee tasted different and deliciously so. I realized that my taste buds had gone through a detox. It could well be also why, a few month’s ago, I started getting intuitions from my body that it desired more nutritional and fresh foods.
Freedom is about being willing and able to respond to life and make choices that contribute to making life better. When one is a slave ………………. to anything, this freedom is absent. Whilst tasty and delicious food may fulfill your taste buds, is it actually nourishing your body or are you slowly dying from nutritional starvation ?
How can you tell? Well those symptoms of bloating, indigestion, rashes, drowsiness, headaches and lack of energy etc could be a clue that what your body requires and what your taste buds are telling you is okay to eat, are not in alignment. If it helps you to keep notes, then jot down those times when you feel off. It could be a once off, however if it is happening more often than not, then taking a look at the fuel you are putting into your body, may be a great place to start. And of course, you could ask you body what it want’s to eat. I almost always muscle test everything now and I am amazed at the new foods and tastes that are showing up for me to explore. The great thing with plain natural unseasoned food, is that you get to play with flavours and spices and find those that marry well together. And you also know what is in your food.
Eating well is not just about food that tastes nice. The fast food industry is an example of where food can taste nice but long-term does not provide ample nutrition for the human body to sustain and heal itself in an optimal way. How you hydrate your body is also important and despite all of these fancy drinks available, the body really only requires water and if at all possible, structured water because it is energized and freed from entrainment, i.e. memory.
The quality of our food is of the utmost importance as it is the fuel for our physical bodies. I am not suggesting that you always eat food that tastes horrible. I have experienced that the more natural my food is, the more I actually get to taste the natural flavour of what I am eating. If you don’t like it then you don’t have to eat it. Nature, however, provides us with a wide variety of yummy natural foods that taste good and that – even better – are good fuel. Start to integrate them slowly into your life. There is no need to give up anything. I still have my coffee and enjoy chocolate.
Please, don’t let your taste buds take you on a ride – especially to a place where you do not want to find yourself or experience ill-health !
Here’s to healthy living and eating. Bon Appetit.

What is the invitation of persistent resistance? Are you one of those people who gets highly irritated by the saying, “What you resist will persist.”? Well I certainly have had periods of a love-hate relationship on hearing and saying this myself, depending on which side of the resistance I was standing on at the time. I often have to chuckle when I remember Gloria Steinem’s quote, that “The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.”! The irony for me of course being that the feeling of irritation is a symptom and sign of resistance in and of itself.
Now, for me resistance shows up mostly as a sensation in my body. It may be different for you, so I invite you to think about something you really are “against” and just observe if you can trace it to a place in your body. The human body is a barometer of information and is continually sending us information through our neural pathways and nervous systems to keep us up to date and ready to act. As I am primarily kinesthetic in my learning style, the signals come to me as a physical sensation or emotional feeling of resistance. Some other learning styles are visual or auditory.
For a while now I have been aware of this sensation of persisting resistance being communicated to me by my body. It baffled me because it did not make sense. By this I mean that whilst I have been choosing to experience a specific kind of lifestyle, I became aware that whenever an opportunity to experience this kind of living actually showed up, an intense feeling of resistance, if not a sense of dislike, would show up.
What really set off my alarm bell, was that I had found myself with this same kinesthetic experience in a situation which was definitely not what I was saying I desired. I was drawn to the perception that I was getting the same sensory feedback from two quite different and seemingly opposite situations. One which I enjoyed and was asking for more of, and another situation which I was choosing to move away from.
So what was the invitation? I found that the persistent niggle of sensation was there to catch my attention. It was my body’s way of letting me know that somewhere in all the mental concluding and judging and decision making, there was something that did not add up. I was out of alignment in my choosing. And so it was time to sit down and have a cup of tea with this feeling and find out what was true about this situation that was bothering me.
What I uncovered was a pattern of mixed signals. And when I took the time to look at it consciously and ask for clarity, the tangle began to unravel. The alarm was to show me that I had unconsciously collapsed the definition around “work” with two completely different meanings. Literally the sensation in the pit of my stomach was telling me that I had gotten myself into a knot.
Until I took the time to bring my awareness and conscious choosing to this knowing and get the information that was there for me, I could not be free and thus was in resistance and literally felt torn in two. That’s what happens when there are conflictual choices. Energy requires directing to move and for this it needs clear instruction. If not, it just hovers around.
To me, the invitation within the persistent resistance is …… there is something here that you need to take a look at and choose. And ……… until I take that time out and stop, breathe, listen and choose, the resistance will persist.
I came away from this experience knowing that resistance that persists is an invitation to take notice. To Be Aware. To choose. How to break through the persistence of resistance? Just keep on choosing!
May you enjoy the unfolding of your Choosing and Creation.

What would an easy peezy bright and breezy Life look like?
In a recent radio interview with Linda Irwin of Unseen World, the issue of self-love, simplicity and receiving came up. Linda drew on several quotations from my new e-book “a-Ha – insight inspiration question” and if there is a main theme to this book it is to offer suggestions of different possibilities and choices for Living and Well-Being.
More and more I am choosing to experience Life as truly simple. It is our ego mind that adds the drama and trauma to our idea of Living. Intensity seems to have become equated with validity, whereas simplicity is considered as easy peezy bright and breezy…….. or in other words ……….. BORING! And no one wants to be bored or considered boring, right?
I used to think that the more dysfunctional a relationship was, the more real it was. Because it was intense!! Just like a soap opera. Until I actually began to get bored by the repeated intensity of all my relationships. And one day I woke up and asked myself to find another way to Living that is fulfilling and peaceful and not endlessly depleting.
Whilst most people feel impelled to find an answer for any and all questions – the brain has become hardwired to function this way over the centuries – what if asking the correct question can unlock pandora’s box? And would you want to go there?
They say that the truth is often hidden in plain sight. This is the reason why simplicity is required. How do you simplify things? First, you stop whatever you are doing and shift your awareness to your breathing. Our breathing is so simple that we take it completely for granted and yet it – above all else – keeps us alive in our body. Just begin to give more and more attention to how you breathe – without attempting to change anything. Become aware of how this simple small shift in focus, leads to more space …….. and perhaps in the quiet you begin to notice and sense the magic that is continuously unfolding, just beyond the perimeter of you current awareness. When you transmute the energy by consciously choosing your thoughts, your can discover the magical secrets of pandora’s box.
When you ask a question and stop to allow and receive the influx of information without judgement, there is a mental door that opens up during the pause, offering a world of possibilities to choose from. It happens in a split milli-second and most of us are too busy to even notice it there. And our cognitive programming is such that in its efficiency to support us, our physical brain has programmed these habits into our neurological make-up. Very efficient, but perhaps no longer practical and applicable. It is time to outgrow the habit ….. and this requires conscious input of new data. So if you are feeling bored by simplicity, open the door named boredom and take a closer look. You may find there is more to boredom than you first thought or perceived.
Life can be challenging and we can find ourselves in difficult situations, so I am not being flippant when I talk about a life that is easy peezy bright and breezy. Rather I am inviting you to stop and connect to your power of creation and look for the simplicity. If you are vibrating on a frequency of simplicity, then you will attract all the simplicity that the Universe has to offer – Law of Attraction. The truth is quite literally under your nose ……. YOUrself!
May you enjoy and have fun with the unfolding of your Creations.

Adieu is a french term that is used to mean farewell. I have taken the liberty to break it down into A Dieu – which could literally be translated as “To God”. This post is a dedication and a farewell to Herbie the baby hedgehog. He passed over last week. He showed me that love, miracles and grace do exist.
When this little baby hedgehog came into my life just over three weeks ago, I had no way of knowing of how much this small creature would teach me and gift me. And how much I would come to love and miss him ………………
My last blog I spoke about how Herbie showed me that miracles do exist and that they can be expected. So when he left, a part of me wanted to discount the miracle that had come before. After all, his leaving wasn’t part of something miraculous …………. or was it?
Spirit does not see things in the way that the human mind does and so it does not see any limitations or make judgements. Spirit continues to flow and change and expand and be. The human mind when confronted with a different or uncomfortable or painful outcome, will always attempt to discredit the magic. When magic is allowed to run its true course, the outcome is far greater than anything we can imagine, even if it appears in a totally unexpected way or form. Whilst I know that death is simply a changing of form, I do miss seeing and having Herbie’s little physical form around. Yet the gifts he gave me far outweigh the feeling of loss. He touched my life with his presence and love……. and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Now, he is free and I know he is dancing and playing with the faeries at the bottom of the garden.
Beyond Miracles ………..
